In Q1 2024 I was the maintenance designer for this project, reviewing the site making adjustments and presenting to leadership.
Project Summary:
The client is a non profit that needed a homepage refresh.
Imagery, WCAG compliance and text alignment were the biggest issues.
I was able to find aesthetically pleasing imagery and resolve compliance and imagery issues for a more clear homepage.
Problem:
A Global Perspective is a non profit organization working with underserved students that needed updates for the homepage of their website for more clarity.
The homepage needed more clarity in imagery, text and WCAG compliance.
Goals:
Clients can read the text on the websites homepage due to WCAG compliance and font changes.
The site is more welcoming to users due to page clarity.
Process:
Viewing the website for the first time I was able to make a clear assessment of changes that needed to be made. The client was open to my suggestions. I embarked on the website details that needed to be adjusted. I ran into issues with following the footsteps of the previous designer. Working on a project like this requires archaelogy to piece together what was done before. I found free imagery that would keep cost down for the organization, as well as, used a free WCAG compliance site to help the users when they visit the site.
Results:
A great website is crucial for a nonprofit organization. It serves as a primary platform for raising awareness about its mission and initiatives. It also allows for donations and volunteer sign-ups by providing an accessible and user-friendly interface. A well-designed website enhances credibility, helping to attract and retain supporters.
