I was the UX Researcher in Q1 & Q2 and UX UI Designer, maintaining cohesive branding and presenting to leadership.

Project Summary

  • WDA is a nonprofit organization based in the US that reaches 75+ countries monthly.

  • They are looking to transition from a text-heavy website to a more personable website with both imagery and impactful text.

The Problem

  • WDA has been in the process of redesigning the website. Alignment and Imagery were the biggest issues. The organization connects with people so they wanted the site to feel more personable instead of having word excess.

The Goals

  • Clients want to make the website more personable with imagery as well as modernize the UI of the website

  • Vision of the organization reflected in the homepage in an aesthetically pleasing and functional manner.

Process

  • Through various meeting clients explained ideas that they had for the website homepage. I was able to take those ideas and begin wireframing on paper then, made digital wireframes where I met with clients to further visualize and explain the direction of the homepage. After this initial meeting we went through multiple rounds of user testing and iteration to finally arrive at a completed product.

Results

  • Non profits need the same if not more attention attention to their digital footprint. Presenting a website that is aesthetically pleasing that contains the right amount of information is crucial to gaining donors and contributors who can support the vision.

  • We will be monitoring SEO keyword rankings and organic traffic, conversion rates that guide users to the bookstore and to the CGI inventory. We are also tracking events, such as newsletter sign up and downloading free resources offered.
